Portfolio Description

Let’s mix it up!

In this project, we aimed to convey the feeling of a delightful evening by the beach to the viewer through the photograph.

The Blue Hawaii cocktail is a visually stunning drink, perfect for photography with its vibrant blue hue and tropical garnishes. Capturing its essence requires careful attention to lighting, composition, and styling.

  • Tropical Fruits: Pineapple slices, coconut halves, lime wedges, or maraschino cherries add freshness and color.
  • Beach Elements: Sand, seashells, starfish, or a bamboo mat create a coastal vibe.
  • Glassware & Straws: Elegant hurricane glasses, tiki mugs, or colorful paper straws enhance the presentation.
  • Lighting Accents: Fairy lights or reflective surfaces can add a dreamy glow.
  • Cocktail Umbrellas: Classic mini umbrellas reinforce the tropical theme.
  • Palm Leaves & Flowers: Hibiscus flowers or palm fronds provide a lush, exotic backdrop.

Editing drink photos requires precision to enhance vibrancy, clarity, and texture while maintaining a natural look. Here are some key editing tips to elevate drink photography:

1. Adjust Colors & Contrast

  • Boost saturation to make the drink’s hues pop, but avoid overdoing it.
  • Fine-tune contrast to enhance depth and make the drink stand out.
  • Use color grading to create a mood—warm tones for cozy drinks, cool tones for refreshing cocktails.

2. Enhance Clarity & Sharpness

  • Increase clarity to define textures like condensation or bubbles.
  • Apply selective sharpening to highlight the drink while keeping the background soft.

3. Manage Reflections & Highlights

  • Use dodge & burn techniques to balance highlights and shadows.
  • Reduce glare on glassware using localized adjustments.

4. Perfect the Background & Composition

  • Remove distractions with spot healing or clone stamping.
  • Apply vignetting to subtly draw attention to the drink.
